About Me

Dylan Baker

Computer Engineering student at UVic, tinkerer, and small business owner based in Victoria, BC.

I'm a second-year Computer Engineering student at the University of Victoria, having transferred from Camosun College where I completed an Engineering Transfer certificate. I'm drawn to the full stack of engineering, from writing embedded firmware in C to designing custom PCBs in KiCAD and building interactive software applications in Python and C++.

My current focus is on ECE299 Engineering Design, where I'm building a full FM radio receiver from the ground up: schematic design, a custom PCB layout around the RDA5807M tuner IC, and embedded firmware for control and UI. It's the kind of project that ties together everything I've been studying so far.

Outside of coursework, I run GameTime Painting, a residential and commercial painting business I've operated since 2022. Managing a crew, coordinating with clients, and handling scheduling and invoicing has given me practical project management experience that I bring to my engineering work too.

In my spare time I'm typically prototyping games, upgrading hardware, 3D printing parts, or playing competitive games.
